So another fun day out climbing at Red Rock. It’s so convenient how close we live now- only about a ten minute drive to the entrance to this gorgeous national park. After the recent rains, black corridor wasn’t too wet to climb. By the end of the day, it was packed with classes and copious amounts of climbers ready to get on the rock. I recently bought a new camera bag at WPPI expo. I am convinced it was made for me. The Lowepro Flipside Sport 20L is beyond the perfect bag for me. It has waist straps for heavy packs, a camelbak bladder holder, and all the convenient pockets for both a cameraman and adventurer. The plus side also is that is does not look like a camerabag, so thieves will not be tempted to snatch it up. Anyways, back to climbing…

So this fine man, Gary, was kicking ass all day. I kept peaking over at him and his wife who were killing every route with ease. They were vacationing from England and it was their last day of the trip. While Mike and I cleaned a route, we overheard them speaking with a couple of other guys. Gary was offering them his rope because he couldn’t travel with it all the way back to England. We started to talk with him and after conversing with the other guys, we decided we could take the rope off his hands. It’s a nice blue 50 meter rope (which I will now make my official camera rope). We didn’t have anything to offer them, so I decided to take their pictures on their way out. After wishing them well, they were off.

Two very different approaches to a dyno problem on Need to Rest 10b.

A different perspective of red rock.
