I recently went out to California with my aunt and uncle who were visiting their daughter Julie in Santa Barbara. I decided to hitch onto their annual trip because SB is far closer to Carlsbad than Michigan is at this point, and I figured they would help me visit the Transworld offices. I was in luck, turns out they love me more than I realized and were willing to drive three hours through SoCal (and through LA) to allow me to visit the offices and meet up with Nick Hamilton.

We arrived and I was immediately amused with the hybrid parking only (oh California). My aunt and uncle split from the offices and gave me about thirty minutes to soak it all in.

Nick showed me around- foozeball and ping-pong tables are essential. The entire office is super chill- a bunch of surfers, skaters, and boarders all thrown into one building. He even showed me the photo studio and I started to drool. Compared to a small art colleges idea of a photo studio- this was epic. I might even have my own little project I will be doing for the website (thanks for the inspiration Adam DeKraker.)

I got to meet Annie Fast also and explain to her that I will be working in a car factory this summer to help support myself in CA economy; which she got a kick out of.

From here- it’s the summer job and waiting to move. I have potential places to live lined up & I just need to decide where to settle in. I’m worried I am moving to California with a great fear of the ocean (sharks) and I barely eat any sea food. Oh this will be great.
